CAA Football Preseason Update…UMass and an NFL All-Pro

Aug 5, 2010, 8:28 AM EDT

Another update from the preseason camps…not much going on yet.  A couple of teams reported to campus Wednesday and will get practices underway today.  Check back tomorrow for additional info on the first practices around the league.

Our 10 teams in 10 days feature will roll out here and on CAASports.com beginning Aug. 19 so be sure to come back for that information.

We Dugg this story yesterday, but thought we would pay it a little more attention today because of a good video profile from UMass on Ian Shultis.  Checkout that below.  Matt Vautour of the Daily Hampshire Gazette also wrote about Ian…here.

The big national football news is obviously Brett Favre and all of the indecision.  Former William and Mary standout,  NFL Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion Darren Sharper was a guest on the Brian Kenny Show Wednesday and weighed in on the Favre situation.  Checkout that podcast here.

Former UMass lineman Vlad Ducasse is competing for a starting job on the O-line for the New York Jets.  Take a look at the article in the New York Post and read some comments from Jets’ line coach Bill Callahan on Ducasse.
