2010 CAA Football Preseason Camp Update — 8.21

Aug 21, 2010, 11:55 AM EDT

We start off today’s blog entry with a big congrats to Monica Melville for her quick, and correct, response to yesterday’s 10T/10D trivia regarding Rhode Island.  Monica earned herself a Rhode Island mini-helmet after tweeting to us that Rams’ head coach Joe Trainer spent time during his career at Villanova, another CAA Football squad, from 1997-2004.  10T/10D will begin again Monday, Aug. 23, when UMass is revealed around 10 a.m. (ET).  You could win the UMass mini-helmet below.

We also got repeat responses from two of our loyal followers on Twitter @mriordan2323 (Mike Riordan) & @HolidayInnFTRYL (Brent Jackson)…and learned both are competing against each other to see who can win the most mini-helmets in our 10T/10D trivia contest.  Both are trying outfit home “man-caves” with CAA Football memoribilia.  We couldn’t be happier they both shared the competition with us and wish them all the luck…all you other fans better get ready because these guys are looking to stockpile!  Take a look at Mike’s setup thus far below!

James Madison is holding “Meet the Dukes” Day at the new and improved Bridgeforth Stadium today.  We’ll have some recap video of the day tomorrow, but did catch up with Jakarie Jackson after yesterday’s practice…watch that below.  Also of note be sure to follow Harrisonburg Daily News Record beat-writer Mike Barber on Twitter.  Barber is constantly tweeting about the Dukes this preseason and has some great insight.

Rhode Island recapped its last two practices as part of its Training Camp Central page.  Watch the post-practice videos below from Aug. 19 & 20, respectively.  The Rams are holding a scrimmage as we type today so check back tomorrow for a recap of that event.  Also be sure to follow URI Athletics Director Thorr Bjorn on Twitter.  Mr. Bjorn has already tweeted this morning from the scrimmage!

Richmond added to its Training Camp Central page, presented by NTelos Wireless, yesterday.  The Spiders posted a photo gallery from the day’s practice which included a visit from the Richmond Childrens’ Hospital.  Also included on the recap of yesterday is a conversation with Derek Mayo and head coach Latrell Scott.

Towson held its 2010 Media Day Friday and then had a scrimmageClick here for a recap of the scrimmage including some comments from head coach Rob Ambrose.

William and Mary stocked up its Fall Camp Headquarters with loads of content from Friday’s practice.  The Tribe posted a photo gallery of the day and added four new videos…watch all of those below.  William and Mary will host a scrimmage tonight at 7:20 p.m. at Zable Stadium and we’ll have a recap of that action here tomorrow.  Click here for details on tonight’s scrimmage.
