Time for the Week 2 CAA Football Blog Roundup…a look around the league for news and happenings this past week and those leading up to the second weekend of the college football season.

Now for some news from around the league.

Delaware has designated Saturday’s contest against South Dakota State as Service Appreciation Day and will be giving discounts to all the men and women who fearlessly defend our country.  Click here for more details.  The Blue Hens will also welcome over 1,200 high school band members from 17 different schools to participate in Louviers Federal Credit Union Band Day Saturday afternoon.  Click here for more details on the bands scheduled to participate.

James Madison held its weekly press conference with head coach Mickey Matthews earlier this week to preview the Dukes’ matchup with Virginia Tech.  View the archived video below.

Maine will be hosting a Tailgating event prior to its game this weekend at Monmouth.  Click here to find out information on how to contact the Black Bear and attend the Maine Tailgate.

Massachusetts jumped into both National Top 25 polls this weekend after topping then-No. 4 William and Mary last Saturday.  The Minutemen then got word that six of its alumni will be part of NFL rosters and franchises heading into the 2010 season.  Click here for the info on the UMass alums on this season’s NFL rosters.  Be sure to also checkout the UMass’ game this weekend against Holy Cross on CBS3Now in the Springfield, Mass., area.  Click here for more details on the broadcast package.  If you are planning to attend UMass’ contest Saturday be sure to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Amherst Survival Food Center.

New Hampshire posted a sideline view video of Terrance Fox’s 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown last weekend to open the Wildcats’ win over Central Connecticut State.  Fox earned CAA Football weekly honors for the effort.  New Hampshire also posted a preview video for this weekend’s matchup at Big East Conference favorite Pittsburgh.  Take a look at both of those videos below.

Rhode Island’s Alumni Association is holding a Tailgate prior this weekend’s game at Fordham.  Click here for the details on how to register and take part.
