The playoffs are here!!! All four CAA Football teams begin their quests for the league’s third-straight National Championship Saturday. Delaware opens the action at noon in Delaware Stadium against a long-time rival Lehigh. New Hampshire, which has made it to the playoffs seven-straight seasons, is in Dayton Beach, Fla., to face Bethune-Cookman at 1 p.m. William and Mary is hosting Georgia Southern at Zable for a 1:30 p.m., kickoff. Villanova, the defending National Champions, are in Nacogdoches, Texas, and will kickoff against Stephen F. Austin at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on ESPN3.com as well as MASN (CAA Football footprint) and on The CW in Philadelphia.
You still have time to log your vote in this week’s fan poll. How many of CAA Football’s four teams advance to next weekend’s quarterfinals? Check that out to the right or below.
The CAA Football Pressbox will get you ready for this weekend’s four games. Click here to access The Pressbox for all kinds of pregame media notes and depth charts as well as archive audio and video. Check back Saturday to find the same gameday flipcards being used by the media in the conference’s two home games.
We also encourage you to visit CAA Football Gameday Central Saturday morning at CAASports.com. Each of the four games will be featured with links to each contest’s livestat link, video and audio streams and more. Come back to the blog Saturday morning to find a link directly to this week’s Gameday Central.
Just a heads up on the post-weekend recaps you usually can count on from CAA Football. Due to NCAA rules regarding championship play video we may not have too much in the way of video recaps. If our schools have postgame reaction or any other video highlights we will link to them as best as possible here on the blog. We will provide some links back to NCAA.com, but embedding the usual videos may be difficult due to the policies in place for the NCAA Championships.
An earlier report today had Delaware’s game against Lehigh being televised on WFMZ Channel 69 in Newark and in the Lehigh Valley. We still haven’t confirmed that, but keep checking your local listings for that. You can also look at bluehens.com for further updates.
New Hampshire recapped its 2010 regular season with a video below. Take a look. The Wildcats also previewed their matchup against the nation’s best team in terms of turnover margin…Bethune-Cookman. Watch it to get ready for Saturday’s game in Dayton Beach, Fla.
Villanova got to Nacogdoches last night after a charter flight to Shreveport, La., followed by a bus ride. The team worked out at Stephen F. Austin this afternoon. Coach Talley and the Wildcats are ready to go.
William and Mary posted video from its weekly media luncheon. Below is head coach Jimmye Laycock as well as a second video from selected Tribe players.
