We want to wish everyone an early Happy New Year today…be safe out there in all of the celebrations this evening and into tomorrow. We also hope you had a great holiday. We are now a week away from the 2011 NCAA Division I National Championship. Can the Delaware Blue Hens become the league’s third-straight National Champion? Be sure to vote in our poll to the right or below. Prior to the season we created a CAA Football commercial than aired during each of our 20+ league television games which included the water-cooler baths for each of our championship wins. Do you think Coach Keeler will be added to this after Jan. 7?
Here is the poll…it closes around 6:30 p.m. (ET), Friday, Jan. 7. Just in time for you to settle in and watch Delaware take on Eastern Washington on ESPN2HD and ESPN3. This year’s National Championship game is in a new city and new venue. Frisco, Texas and Pizza Hut Park will serve as the host of the 2011, 2012 and 2013 National Championship game…Frisco is a suburb of Dallas, Texas.
Come back next Friday night to find our Gameday Central page link so you can follow all the the action with livestats, live audio, links to the ESPN3 broadcast and more.
CAA Football continues to Digg! You can see some of the recent news articles we are Digging in the widget down the right margin of the blog. Send us some articles/news links at firstname.lastname@example.org if you find some features we may have missed.
We also encourage you to visit CAA Football Gameday Central next Friday evening at CAASports.com. The National Championship game will be featured with links to livestats, video and audio streams and more. As stated above you can come back to the blog on gameday to find a link directly to National Championship Gameday Central.
Just a heads up on what we hope will be a “Championship Celebration” recap. Due to NCAA rules regarding championship play video we may not have too much in the way of video recaps. We will attempt to capture any postgame celebrations or postgame reaction following next Friday’s game and will definitely post those here and on CAASports.com.

One more NFL note…Villanova standouts Ijalana (mentioned above in the PFW All-America team) and Matt Szczur were invited to take part in the NFL Senior Bowl, presented by Under Armour. Click here to read a story written and appearing on the official Senior Bowl site.
