The end of March and we thought we would fill up the weekly roundup now since Spring Football is definitely here and the CAA Football staff will be joining the regular CAA staff in Houston to cheer on VCU at the Final Four. That is a bit of a heads up in case you don’t see many tweets, facebook posts or blog updates until later next week.
Two weeks ago we posted a video, a list and some detailed directions on how our fans could participate in this season’s Spring/Summer CAA Football coverage. Click here to be taken to that post for the details. We have received some good feedback so far, and need more questions from you!!!
It is easy…you can message us or write your questions on our wall on facebook. You can tweet your questions to us on twitter or you can email them to us. First and foremost watch the video below and also click the link below to find out which student-athletes we plan to interview. Don’t wait to send us your questions either.
According to a news release earlier this week a limited number of hospitality suites remain for the 2011 season at JMU’s new Bridgeforth Stadium. Another cool experience we just saw via jmusports.com…an auction where you can get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to produce a radio and video broadcast of a JMU sporting event. Curt Dudley will give you the tour prior to the contest!
News out of Maine earlier this week is that Interim Athletics Director Steve Abbott will be appointed to a two-year term as the Black Bears AD beginning June 1. Congratulations to Mr. Abbott!
Massachusetts released its 2011 schedule late last week. Look for the complete 2011 CAA Football schedule to be released late next week or early the week beginning March 11. All CAA Football television scheduling will begin soon and those game times will be released as they become available. The Minutemen also held a Pro Day last week…you can watch that video below.
The National Marrow Donor Program has been a project that a majority of our league’s teams have been involved with. UMass took part in a donor drive this past week. You can watch two reports below from that drive courtesy of NBC22 in Massachusetts and umassathletics.com.
Old Dominion is into its spring practice schedule…Click here for a practice report which includes a video interview with Monarch head coach Bobby Wilder.
Members of the Rhode Island squad visited a nursing home in South Kingston earlier this week. Click here for a recap and photo gallery. You can also watch some video clips below.
Richmond is well into Spring Practice and head coach Latrell Scott will open this Saturday’s session at 8 a.m. at Robins Stadium.
Towson has all sorts of news to pass along. The Tigers opened their spring session early this morning and plan to hold their spring game the “Inaugural Tiger Bowl” April 30. Towson head coach Rob Ambrose announced the promotion of Jared Ambrose to quarterbacks coach earlier this week. Also online at towsontigers.com we found Spiro’s Tiger Tales. The radio voice of the Tigers gives his take on the Tigers’ spring football campaign.
William and Mary has been filling the internet with spring football content. The Tribe released spring practice updates, including video interviews, from the following days: March 25, March 26, March 28, March 30 & March 31.
